![]() ![]() To be honest it`s all a bit of a mess not sure exactly what belongs to who but they all work for now.untill the map upgrades! Tom tom did offer to email out a program thet detects the device code on the PC the tom tom was installed to but as I am the local tomtom expert( for want of a better word) I have installed about 4 of my mates on here so that wouldn`t work. If you have the original tom tom card you do not need to activate it but if you have an extra bigger card then upgrade to the original and then upgrade the bigger card without turning tom tom off then activation isnt asked for again - This worked for me. Posted: Fri 9:36 am Post subject: Re: Lost activation code so no upgrade for me Once that has been successful which doesnt require re-activation you can upgrade your new SD card and the ativation from the first upgrade will be retained. If you have your original SD and have not reformatted it you can do the upgrade on there. I've just downloaded the upgrade and installed it without any mention of an activation code!!!!!!! :D So does this mean that it looks like I'm going to have to pay for another one? I bought my GO from Maplin who had "Grade B" GOs (where people had it and brought it back), and the disk was just in a plastic sleeve, no mention of a product code anywhere - the GO just worked out of the box, I didn't need to do anything, not even upgrade it. Always keep it backed up in a safe place (not on your computer)." ![]() Without it, the product can not be activated. ![]() "Also, keep in mind that the product code is very important for your GO. The warning in the e-mail was quite stark: ![]() I've just e-mailed them back, but I'm getting very bad feelings about this. I've emailed TomTom, and they sent a program which apparently gets the product code from your PC. , Tomtom GO V5 Classic, Road Angel Classic. Ipaq 3970, Ipaq 2210 X2, Smart ST V1, Tomtom V3+V5, CoPilot V5, AA Navigator, Tomtom Bluetooth GPS, Navman 3450i Jacket, Navman Bluetooth GPS, Holux GM270, Fortuna GPS-PocketXtrack If your registered with tomtom, you can save your codes on the website just incase you ever lose them It might tell you the activation code which has been issued for that device. If you have a device code, try going through the registration process with it. Luckily I have backed up the SD card so I am about to copy it back otherwise it would be no tomtom for me for a few days/weeks ( it will not work at all now)Will the code be on the back up?Īny ideas? I have emailed tomtom but expecting a wait.Ĭontact Tomtom with pop and they will supply new code I have a device code on the tom tom and the code on the white/green border card that I registered with tom tom but not the code I need.
